By Lisa Vernon-Sparks BARRINGTON, R.I. — Celebrating the spectacle of Oscar’s big night and the Red Carpet is a matter of cultivating style. Learning how is easy on Oscar Sunday with the Barrington Preservation Society. The group will host “The Art of Dressing” with an illustrated discussion with Lorraine Howes, Professor Emerita of Apparel Design at the Rhode Island School of Design. The event takes place 2 p.m. at the Barrington Public Library auditorium. Howes will discuss aspects of fashion, past and present and how clothing is a reflection of what is happening in our society.
